Tunnel Hill Reclamation Landfill (or “THR”) is a fully permitted and licensed subtitle D landfill equipped with the latest technology. We employ the most up-to-date safeguards to protect the environment and public health. We work in collaboration with the Perry County Health Department and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to ensure we’re operating in accordance with federal and state regulations. We work with the Coshocton-Fairfield-Licking-Perry Joint Solid Waste District on recycling and reuse programs in support of its solid waste management plan.
THR is permitted to receive solid waste, including remediation soils, wastewater sludges and biosolids, and construction and demolition debris. We do not accept hazardous, toxic, or untreated bulk infectious wastes.
THR opened in April 2007 and is currently approved for landfill activities on 118 acres. At the end of 2018, THR had 18.5 years of capacity remaining at current volumes. THR has applied for authorization to expand, which would extend the landfill’s operational life by an additional 17 years at current volumes.
